Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy quiets the mind, relaxes the body, settles the nervous system and opens the heart. This type of bodywork emphasizes slowing down and being present. It is meditative in nature and deeply restorative to the client. Stillness is the starting point for witnessing the healing process that is already taking place in the body. The inherent treatment plan can be called into consciousness and supported by both practitioner and client. This is accomplished by recognizing and connecting to the health of the system. This health is always present even in the midst of the disease process or symptoms.

What is a Craniosacral Therapy session like?

During a Craniosacral Therapy session, the client lies down, fully clothed, on a treatment table. Pillows and a blanket may be used for the client’s comfort. Subtle and light contact is made by the therapist who is seated beside the treatment table. Contact generally includes holding the head and feet and also placing a hand under the sacrum.
